How to estimate eletric energy consumption ?
Submitted by admin on Sun, 2008-04-20 20:22.You can use this formula to estimate an appliance's energy use:
(Wattage × Hours Used Per Day ÷ 1000 = Daily Kilowatt-hour (kWh) consumption
(1 kilowatt (kW) = 1,000 Watts)
Multiply this by the number of days you use the appliance during the year for the annual consumption. You can then calculate the annual cost to run an appliance by multiplying the kWh per year by your local utility's rate per kWh consumed.

Submitted by admin on Fri, 2008-04-18 00:45.Just shared a thought with a friend, knowing he is a noise & vibration control consultant.
i always wanted to explore the possibility of converting noises generated in shopping mall, busy traffic, etc into electric energy - as the teory stated - energy cannot be destroyed.
after his did a quick calculation, and he told me the noise generated from a stadium having a football game, for an hour, is able to produce energy that is good enough to boil an egg!
